Video: How El Machete Makes Its Handcrafted Salsas and Hot Sauces ~ L.A. Taco Tastes

[dropcap size=big]W[/dropcap]e went to Hollywood on a Sunday morning to try El Machete, Oscar Ochoa's popular handcrafted hot sauces and salsas. El Machete is available every Sunday from 8 am to 1 pm at the market, but he is also a mainstay at pop-ups in Boyle Heights, East L.A., downtown L.A., Highland Park, and all over Los Angeles.

When we went to try the salsas, we had no idea the depth of El Machete's struggle to survive regulation. It was a wild one. To read the amazing story on how it almost went away due to regulation go here: El Machete: How the Hottest New Handcrafted Hot Sauce Almost Went Away Due to Regulation

Palisades Taquero Sued By Ralphs Returns To Feed First Responders

Gracias Señor's customers in Pacific Palisades were 70% locals, including many students from the local high school that burned down. On the day the fire started, taquero Rudy Barrientos barely made it out in time to not have to abandon his popular food truck. Through World Central Kitchen, he's been serving the first responders who are working the graveyard shift breakfast burritos. As for the future, he doesn't know where he will set up next.
