The Broad kicks off fall programming with ‘Callings Out of Context’ music series

For the past month, LA's newly opened contemporary art museum, The Broad (pronounced “brode,” fyi), has been not-so-subtlety buzzing with eager visitors (as acutely evidenced by inflow of selfies next to Basquiat and Hirst artwork on locals’ Instagram feeds). After all, there are 2,000 works of art to quizzically contemplate, and 120,000 square feet of sleekly designed, vault-like architecture to contain the experience. Not to mention that it's free general admission.

Tip: As soon as you arrive, make additional reservations for a highly-coveted spot in Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Room installation, which may take up to several hours of waiting.

Now, The Broad presents its first season of public programming (learn more here), involving a four-part series regarding performance, film, music, and children’s arts engagement.

To commence the festivities, next Thursday, November 5th, we have Callings Out of Context, an experimental pop music series, featuring Helado Negro, of label Asthmatic Kitty, and duo, Rabbit Rabbit. Tickets are now available for this show at thebroad.org/programs.
