Union Station has in recent years, recaptured some of its pre-war glory. Built in 1939 by the father-son team The Parkinsons (who also designed city hall) it's not as large or grand as other Union Stations such as Washington DC, but it is the perfect station for Los Angeles. Featuring Spanish Colonial architecture, two beautiful patios, and, with the introduction of the Red Line and increased Amtrak service, a bustling, clean, and lively main hall.
