Talks on the Rocks Episode 3 ~ El Taquero (Esdras Ochoa of Mexicali Taco & Co.)

Talks on the Rocks continues to interview interesting people in L.A. and create wild cocktails in their honor. The latest is carne asada master Esdras Ochoa, co-owner of Mexicali Taco & Co., winner of Taco Madness 2011. According to Ochoa, that win along with coverage from bloggers like Bill Esparza helped take their taco stand to the next level. Eventually, through his and partner Javier Fregoso's hard work and their huge base of customers, they cemented their place in L.A.'s taco lore.

The cocktail of the episode is a walnut, pepitas, and rice drink, sort of like an alcoholic version of horchata, that is then smoked over coals to give it that flavor reminiscent of being in a taqueria.
