What a game on Thursday.  Tensions ran high as everyone watched both teams play whole-heartedly but Mexico, who dominated most of the game, ended up rising above their complacent way of playing and won.  The momentum for France immediately declined as they felt their opportunity to advance fade away after Javier Hernández, the 22-year-old "Chicharito" from Guadalajara, Mexico scored the first goal.

The crowd at La Guelaguetza, located in my home hood of Korea-Town, went buck wild...cheering, screaming, horn blowing, waving flags, whistling, jumping up and down and hugging and high-fiving each other.  When Cuauhtémoc Blanco scored the second goal, sealing Mexico's victory - well...you can just imagine.

Here are some pics of the event at La Guelaguetza.
