Florence-Firestone: A woman in her thirties was shot multiple times and killed shortly after 6 pm on Tuesday. [KTLA]

Long Beach: The body of a one-year-old girl was found in the L.A. River in Long Beach this weekend, leading to the arrest of her 22-year-old father at his home in Inglewood. He is believed to have thrown her off the bridge or killed her before throwing her. [ABC]

Malibu: Day Rodas, a 27-year-old trans woman who worked for the L.A. LGBT Center, was found dead on the side of Mulholland Highway near El Matador Beach. Her death is being investigated as a homicide and a GoFundMe has been set up for her funeral. [Them]

West Hollywood: Ganja Giggle Garden, a new cannabis consumption lounge in West Hollywood and one of only two in the city, is a 5,000-square-foot sanctuary with Koi fish, Buddha statues, and parrots. [LAT]

—L.A. is reportedly in the midst of a full-blown Covid-19 surge, as cases spike 75%. [L.A. Times]

—Los Angeles Magazine has been purchased by Engine Vision Media, co-founded by attorney and L.A. local Mark Geragos, and will move its headquarters to Downtown's Engine Company 28 building. [L.A. Mag]

—Riverside-based Chuckawalla Valley State Prison in Blythe will shut down by 2025, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation announced on Tuesday, and facilities at six other California prisons will be deactivated. [Yahoo]
