This Godfather of California’s Punk Scene Founded Goldenvoice Before Going to Prison For Smuggling Weed

In the early 80s, Gary Tovar named Goldenvoice after he smoked a strain of Thai weed. He threw the biggest punk shows in the country, filling up spaces like The Grand Olympic Auditorium with 5,000 punks. Swarm of Police in Riot Gear Destroy Peaceful Pro-Palestine Encampment At UCLA During Early Morning Raid, Over 200 Arrested

At 4 AM, CHP broke through the fencing on the other side of the encampment and set up a police line, consistently firing flash-bang grenades into the air. L.A. City Council Designates Section of Pico Blvd as Oaxacan Corridor in Response to Leaked Racist Remarks by Former and Current Council Members

"In response to the hateful, anti-indigenous comments made last year by several elected leaders, the City Council has worked vigorously to empower and to give voice to the grievances and pain experienced by those affected communities," the motion states. "One of those impacted communities was the Oaxacan community." The Council voted 14-0 on the matter.
