This last Thursday marked the opening for Allison "Hueman" Torneros latest exhibit titled "Ritual". The event was hosted at the Think Tank Gallery located in the fashion district of Down Town Los Angeles. Think Tank was full of curious onlookers as the Ate9 Dance Company performed across the gallery floor. Desilu was there to catch the action, view the gallery on the next page for a photo recap.
The spontaneous yet planned dance movements from the Ate9 company brought Torneros' paintings to life. As the dancers moved across the concrete floors, their quick movements and swaying action looked like brush strokes as they gracefully executed their routines. The pyramid in the center built by Monkwood served as the perfect  skate ramp and focal point for the show as patrons relaxed and watched the performances.

Being inside  Think Tank felt like being inside of Torneros' mind; it was a unique window into the artists' process and inner life. The entire atmosphere of the show was warm-- not only because of the heat, but because there was so much life and feeling in the room. One couldn't help but move about with a little hop to the music while enjoying the refreshments and looking at the art.
