Boyle Heights Community Warns of Drivers Stalking Women

via rafavale_7/Instagram

A social media post is spreading awareness about the driver of a white van in Boyle Heights who may be stalking women. The vehicle, which appears to be a white Chevy Passenger or Cargo van, supposedly bears no back plates or back windows, as well as heavy tinting.

According to Instagram user @rafavale_7, whose post has been shared on @EastLosAngeles90022, the driver of the van began following a woman (said to be the writer's girlfriend) outside the CVS and Food 4 Less at Olympic and 8th Street in Boyle Heights. The van pulled in front of the couple's car, at which point the driver, described as a "Hispanic male" in his 40s, stared at them for "about a full minute" after being yelled at, supposedly unaware at first that there was another person besides the woman inside.

The driver then followed the couple at which point another car, with no lights on, began following them as well. @Rafavale_7 claims to have driven in a circle just to make sure they were being followed. He additionally says he saw a lock on the car's sliding door and a steel wall inside the van, "just like you see in vans who abduct women."

While the information in this alert is all but impossible to confirm, the Instagram post shares photos of the van and its license plate, and wants to warn women who may be visiting the stores to be vigilant and careful, sharing our own sentiments when he writes,"Ladies, please be safe and be careful."

Rafavale_7's full statement, which he's encouraging people to disseminate, is below:

ALL PLEASE SHARE!! LADIES ! (CORRECTION OLYMPIC & 8TH STREET)

My girlfriend was stalked and followed today at the CVS on OLYMPIC/8th street. A white Van with no back windows and HEAVY Window tint (couldn’t even see through one bit) pulled in front of our car staring at her. Not knowing I was in the car I hollered at Hispanic Male in his 40’s. He legitimately stared at us for about 1 full minute. As we drove off, he followed us until a second car shot out the parking lot with no lights on and proceeded to follow us going East on Olympic Blvd. We drove in a circle to see if he was following and sure enough he was.

The car had No Plates in the back and a lock on the sliding side door. Through the front windshield, you can see that there was a Steal Wall put inside the car, just like you see in vans who abduct women.

Ladies, please be safe and be careful. Avoid going alone. This is by the Food 4 Less and CVS in Boyle Heights.

We went back in a separate car and waited for the van to leave. We drove around the block after an hour of waiting and in 3 minutes the car was gone. The cops arrived to late. PLEASE SHARE!
