The L.A. Taco Horoscope for June, 2018

[dropcap size=big]S[/dropcap]ay Hello to summer, Angels. June brings the Summer Solstice (June 21st) when the Sun enters Gemini, kicking off our favorite season.  Need ideas for enjoying the longest day of the year? GTFOLA has your playlist. So go play. Get a Gold Star on the 27th, literally. Saturn is at its very brightest that night, and the crystal-clear headspace it provides will keep you grounded.  (It will be visible to the naked eye, but you will need a telescope to see the rings.) Did April’s Mercury Retrograde work you over? Not all retrogrades are bad, kids, and June’s backward planets - Neptune on the 19th and Mars on the 28th - add laser-focused energy to your dreams and goals. This June, put in a nickel and get out a dollar.

Aries (March 21 – April 20)

Take it easy on the caffeine this month, Aries. You won’t need it when your ruling planet Mars serves June a double-shot Americano, aligning with the Moon on the 6th and again on the 30th. This position sometimes triggers that famous temper of yours, but anger isn’t all bad. If you can channel that energy toward a legitimate cause you will make great headway. And because Mars is exalted this month - that means super- amped, astrologically speaking - expect great focus of energy. The Solstice (June 21st) drops the Sun into your Home and Family Sector. You will be smart, funny, and easy to be around. Put your horns away and go with it. June ends with Mars going Retrograde. This only happens every two years. Make the most if it. It lends muscle to your hustle.

Get ready to show off, Leo.

Taurus (April 21 – May 21)

The bull wins at adulting this June, Taurus. On the 3rd, brainy Mercury enters your constellation, aligning with the Earth and Sun to support responsible decision-making. Have a big idea? June 13th welcomes a New Moon to the Taurus constellation, supporting your projects with a lunar blessing. And get ready to cash in on the 21st when the Summer Solstice lands in your Income House. The 28th brings a Retrograde Mars to your career sector, enhancing success in the workplace. (The retrograde ends in August, so don’t waste the opportunity to make things happen in your professional life.)  The bull loves to work, and this month, the planets love the bull.

Gemini (May 22 – June 21)

Happy Birthday, Cutie! The sun pops in for a kiss hello on the 21st for the Summer Solstice, bringing the longest day of the year as a gift. You will be extra charming with all that solar sparkle, but don’t waste that charm on just anybody; exciting new friends are coming your way. Your ruling planet Mars gets fancy this month with a Superior Conjunction on the 5th - that means it aligns with Mother Earth and the Sun – to bestow some good ideas on the Twins. So trust your gut, no matter what others are saying. You are making good decisions. Buckle up for the Mars Retrograde June 28th.  It lands in your House of Transformation, supercharging a new you.

Cancer (June 22 – July 22)

You are as moody as ever this June, Cancer: good moods, bad moods and everything in between. As usual, your watery Moon makes the rounds, beginning and ending the month with a Mars-Moon alignment. This pairing can trigger hot tempers. Luckily, your temper is like milk - it cools just as quickly as it boils. Been brainstorming lately? Cut the ribbon on that great idea June 13th, when a New Moon in Taurus lends the Bull’s hard work to your projects. You will be sentimental on the 16th, so get ready to cry some “I love this song” tears when Venus aligns with the Moon in Cancer, causing an emotional response to art. And enjoy some good karma on the 21st. When the Summer Solstice lights up your House of Rewards, you will finally get what you deserve. Grab your swag with both pincers, Crab.

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

Get ready to show off, Leo. Nothing makes you happier than the longest day of the year, and on the Summer Solstice (June 21st) your ruling Sun just won’t go to bed. Everybody gets a boost when the Sun enters Gemini, but you will feel the rewards a little more than the rest of us. Two planetary retrogrades keep the summer interesting for the Lion. First, Neptune flies backwards on the 19th in your House of Partnership, staying there until Thanksgiving and beginning a cycle of spiritual development. (It will be impossible to lie during this period – which should be interesting for an embellisher like yourself.) Mars also goes retrograde this month, again in your House of Partnership. June is all about relationships, Lion. Keep the pride happy, and come to somebody else’s emotional rescue this summer.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

Virgo, June is your career coach. On the 5th your ruling planet Mercury aligns with the Earth and Sun, taking you from Virgin to Goddess-mode. You will be calling the shots at work and basing your decisions on what is best for everyone. (This is why Virgos make the best bosses.) The Summer Solstice (June 21st) lands in your Career House, enhancing your workplace status. Enjoy the appreciation. And in keeping with June’s workplace energy, Mars goes retrograde in your Professional House (June 28th). This is good news. A backwards Mars lends ambition to some awesome goals. But keep that motherly heart open. Success is a karmic challenge, and you may be tempted to impose your authority on others. Follow Gandhi’s motto and lead from behind.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

Art moves the scales this month, Libra, thanks to your ruling planet Venus, Goddess of Beauty. You may lose your breath at an unexpected mural, or well up at some outdoor music as the outdoor pleasures of an L.A. summer give you all the feels. When Venus aligns with the Moon in sappy Cancer (June 16th) beauty will physically weaken you, especially when it comes in the form of other human bodies. The Summer Solstice (June 21st) lands in your Career House, and you will be extra charming that day – a great quality for closing deals. Work it. When Jupiter aligns with the Moon in your constellation (June 23rd) the festivities begin. Spell fun with a capital F and play hard.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)

Your ruling planet Mars is busy this month, Scorpio.  It aligns with the Moon on the 3rd and again on the 30th, empowering June with its strong energy. Apply that power consciously. If you don’t direct the energy, it will direct you, and you may experience strong feelings of jealousy. Have travel plans? The Summer Solstice (June 21st) brightens your House of Travel. This is a great day to hit the road. And has somebody special caught your eye? Mars isn’t done with you yet, and it goes retrograde in your Love Sector on the 28th. This sounds bad but isn’t. In fact, it only happens every two years, and manifests relationship goals. It can also make you selfish, so please be mindful of that stinger.

The Archer enters July with a sense of accomplishment.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

Enjoy a happy home this summer, Archer. June’s celestial mojo fires up the domestic front, so pop open a can of good vibes. When the Summer Solstice (June 21st) lands in your Partnership Quadrant, you will be even more loved than usual, which is saying a lot. Your ruling planet Jupiter gets a lunar hug when it joins the Moon in Libra (June 23rd) showcasing your trustworthiness. We love that you are so real. Also, your constellation hosts the Saturn show (June 27th) when that pretty planet is visible all night long as a golden star. Soak up the clear-headedness it gives you. On the 28th, Mars goes retrograde in your House of Home and Family and stays that way until August, giving you the home field advantage for getting shit done in your personal life. The Archer enters July with a sense of accomplishment.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 20)

Try not to gloat, Goat, but you basically win June. Not only do you host two planetary alignments and a retrograde Mars, but your ruling planet Saturn has its brightest night of the year. To begin, Mars aligns with the Moon in your constellation on both ends of the month (the 3rd and again on the 30th) channeling strong emotions. If you can avoid temper tantrums – which is tricky when you have horns - this energy can help you achieve any goal you choose. On the 27th, your ruling Saturn rises when the Sun sets, and folks will be looking to you for leadership. So lead. On the 28th, Mars goes Retrograde in your constellation, supercharging your professional life and making you kind of uptight. Relax, Capricorn. It is all working out.

Aquarius (January 21 – February 19)

The water-bearer hosts major planetary action this month, Aquarius. On the 6th, Neptune aligns with the Moon in your sign. You will be impressionable, a little psychic and have your head in the clouds – so basically June is just a normal month for you. The intuition continues on the 9th, when your ruling planet Uranus joins the Moon in psychic Pisces. You will need some unusual excitement that day, so go get weird. Maybe try goat yoga at the Golden Road Brewery in Atwater Village. On the 19th, Neptune goes retrograde in Aquarius, forcing your spiritual development. Trust me; you will notice. Monetize your kooky personality on the 21st. When the Solstice lands in your House of Work that day, your nonconformist personality will be valued for once.

Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

Bored with reality, fishes? Hunter S. Thompson — a Pisces, of course — said it never got weird enough for him. This June, it will. The month begins with your ruling planet Neptune joining the Moon (June 6th) giving you mystical dreams. On the 9th, your constellation hosts a Uranus-Moon alignment, putting ants in your celestial pants. So put on your Dodger Blue and paint the town red. Your personal planet, Neptune, goes retrograde June 19th. Don’t freak out. This is a good retrograde, healthy for the spiritually inclined Pisces, and it will flood that psychic heart of yours with love. Speaking of love, the Summer Solstice (June 21st) lands in your Love Quadrant. Feel the sparkle in your heart chakra and shine your light on the rest of us Angels.

Ophiuchus (November 29 – December 17)

Hey Snake-Bearer. Don’t let your low profile get you down. Americans may not be hip to the thirteenth sign, but you are big in Japan. With the Mars-Moon alignments this June (on the 3rd and again on the 30th) get ready for an energetic month. This power can be awesome (if applied with intention) or horrible (if you don’t check yourself). My advice is to follow the sun. It lands in your House of Transformation on the Solstice  - longest day of the year - June 21st. This will be a big summer for Health, as this solar position supports a strong body. Looking for a new exercise regime? Steal some ideas from Cobra Kai - those guys aged well. Pay attention on the 28th, when Mars goes Retrograde in your Home and Family Quadrant. If you are not paying attention this can cause some drama. Expend that energy at the dojo.
