Recap: Superchief Gallery’s Annual Mega Group Show

Once again Superchief Gallery held their annual mega group show across their three locations including two in New York and one in Los Angeles. Superchief Gallery showcases the nitty gritty art shit we love but don't always admit just how much we love it, which is one reason  Superchief Gallery has become one of LA's most essential galleries in a short period. This year's mega bi coastal show featured artists such as Luke Pelletier, Parker Day, Ornamental Conifer, Kristen Liu-Wong, Penelope Gazin, and Swampy.  We asked co-founder Bill Dunleavy what he thought of Mega Group Show opening and he said "The show went great. It was a really awesome mix of older and younger people, which is great to see. I think we had over 1,000 people through the door in total. The show had a really cool carnival vibe. There was a booth by Ornamental Conifer where people had to break bottles with a slingshot to win zines, an 80 year old Magician with a cat on his shoulder and a fortune telling tee-pee."

We've come to notice that Superchief Gallery consistently hosts truly eclectic art shows that are weird without being forced, and underground while still welcome to all. Or, in Bill's words: "I think Superchief Gallery has a more authentic connection to the underground than a lot of other galleries in LA, be it street art, or punk or what have you. We never wanted to fake it or make things unnecessarily commercial. For me it's about keeping it real and bringing up the whole community as a whole." Be sure to follow Superchief Gallery as we know they will continue to gather and serve Los Angeles hot sizzling art to stimulate and activate the left and right brains. super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-38 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-23 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-19 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-16 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-15 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-39super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-9 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-7 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-24super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-4 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-12 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-14 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-20 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-26 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-27 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-25 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-22 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-28 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-30 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-32 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-33 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-35 super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-36super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-21super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-13super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-11super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-10super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-5super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-3super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-2super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-1super-chief-gallery-desilu-munoz-8
