The Reagents – Quam Odunsi ~ Design Matters Gallery

05 Film - The Reagents - Design Matters Gallery - Thursday October 10 2013

Thursday, October 10, 2013 ~ Design Matters, 11527 West Pico Boulevard, Los Angeles

Design Matters is proud to present “The Reagents” by Quam Odunsi. Due to the immense success of his first show at Design Matters called “Anachronistic Capture: Motion & Stills” in April 2012, Quam will be returning this October.

Quam Odunsi is a Los Angeles based artist who depicts the city as clean, obscure and candid. His vintage photography, collage, silkscreen, painting and sculpture engender nostalgia while simultaneously remaining contemporary. The anachronistic nature of his images leads to interesting, raw photography. He has become renowned in the Los Angeles area for his images of celebrities and pop culture under the pseudonym Reserve Result.

In “The Reagents”, Quam depicts a series of works in which he is a government surveillance official who becomes increasingly absorbed by citizens and their private lives. The works are 35mm, 120mm and Polaroid film images and content from these surveillances of the lives of others. The artwork medium is silkscreen, painting, sculpture and film on archival paper and canvas.

The opening reception for “The Reagents” takes place Thursday, October 10 at Design Matters Gallery. The reception is open to the public, and the exhibition will be on view through Saturday, November 2, 2013.
