Phil and Patty’s July 3rd Jam ~ Long Beach

De Anda Hombres

Taqueria de Anda ~ 300 W. Valencia ~ Fullerton

There's only one thing that can improve an LBC beach party that's livened up by fifty-something white people who do that zany, jerky dance of their's...TACOS!!!

So it was that Phil and Patty's 10th annual July 3rd party was catered by Long Beach's impeccable taco chain Taqueria de Anda. Phil and Patty certainly know how to throw a jam for family, friends, little ones and a smattering of crashers.

In addition to a high potency tiki bar and the Elm Street Band, masters of beach ballads from Buffet to Sam Philips, the tacos were in full effect. All the miniature tacos presented by the chicos of La Anda were juicy and delicious, from a barbecue-doused pastor to the solid asada and moist carnitas. Thanks to Poppa Phil and Mama Patty for having TACO and more importantly, having tacos.

DAILY MEMO: Border Patrol Has Left Los Angeles, ICE Carries On Taking Around 25 People This Week

The Harbor Area Peace Patrollers, who for 8 months stood watch every single morning outside of Terminal Island, today confirmed that ICE and CBP have demobilized from the Coast Guard base. While we’ve seen a decrease in activity with Border Patrol gone, around 25 people were still taken between Monday and Friday from Home Depots, cars, courthouses, and mostly targeted attacks.
