Through the Mic at LACMA Presents People Under The Stairs / Skeme / VerBS ~ July 19th

The first two Through the Mic events (photos here and here) are already the stuff of legend so don't sleep on the the third installment which brings LA's People Under The Stairs along with Skeme and VerBS. Through the Mic co-curator MURS hosts. Tickets and more info available here.

With a pioneering DIY ethic, People Under The Stairs have self-managed, produced, and engineered eight full-length albums, along with countless singles and side projects. The duo of Thes One and Double K is devoted to jazzy samples, danceable beats, intricate rhyming skills, and laid-back humor. Their unique brand of hip hop has earned PUTS scores of fans and critical acclaim all over the globe.

Skeme is quickly proving himself to be one of L.A.’s best with his latest release Pistols and Palm Trees. Raised by his grandparents in Inglewood, Skeme fill his songs with the truths and stories of his environment—real life without the gimmicks.

Like MURS, VerBS is also a former Hamilton High student who has gone on to make moves in hip hop with his positive attitude and unwavering determination. His latest, The Progress EP3: Manifest Awesome, drops later this month.
