—Brentwood: A mountain lion was captured in Brentwood on Thursday after leading police on a chase. [LAT]

—San Francisco: Nancy Pelosi’s husband was “violently” attacked by a hammer-wielding suspect this morning at the couple's San Francisco home, according to authorities and multiple media outlets. —Palmdale: A man and a woman were stabbed to death on Thursday afternoon outside of a Kohl’s store, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. The mall was locked down following the fatal stabbings. One suspect is in custody. [CBS]

—Westminster: A family of four was reportedly “kidnapped” at gunpoint in Orange County after two suspects broke into their home. [CBS]

—City Hall: A recall bid against Councilmember Kevin de León has officially been filed with the Los Angeles City Clerk. Organizers need to collect more than 20,000 valid signatures to remove de León from office. [L.A. Daily News]

—Los Angeles: SpaceX launched a rocket that could be seen from as far as Nevada and Arizona at sunset on Thursday. Did you see it? [ABC7]

—City Hall: Billionaire mayoral candidate Rick Caruso has spent more than $50 million on TV, radio and digital ads, or 13 times more than what his opponent, Congresswoman Karen Bass, has spent. [LAT]

—Hancock Park: One person was killed and another injured when a driver reportedly lost control of their vehicle and slammed into a tree in Hancock Park. The passenger was ejected from the vehicle while the driver remained trapped inside. [KTLA]
