Ramen Burgers

The L.A. County Fair is on now through September 28th. Our events editor Erwin Recinos filed this report on his picks from the proudly over-the-top food you can try this year.

Right out the gate we grabbed the newest food concoctions of the LACF, a funnel cake sausage dog sprinkled with powdered sugar and a side of maple syrup named the "Big Daddy". Definitely a savory delight for all the corn dog lovers out there who always thought making a corn dog into a quasi-dessert would be a great achievement in food technology.

One of the crazier items of this year's fair is the bacon wrapped zucchini on a stick, which is right next to a classic Krispy Kreme triple cheeseburger. If you're up to the challenge, and your heart can take it, this combo is a must-try.

Here we have Chef Dominique is showing our LA TACO readers the prized Big Rib and Chicken on a Stick. Also, the Ray Cammack Show stands will have fried pickles, classic turkey legs, and deep fried pecan pie. Make sure you get a glass of milk with that order to smooth things out.

One more time-- the bacon wrapped zucchini and that deep fried pecan pie. UMMMMMM!

One of my personal favorites of the night was the Chile Relleno Pretzel Burger a spicy chorizo patty, jalapeno jam, avocado, tomato, cheese, and a whole chile relleno. Now that's a tasty burger!

Ramen burgers have been spotted in parts of Los Angeles and you can now get your hands on one at the LACF. Inside this burger you will find U.S. Prime beef, with greens and sauce between a “bun” of compressed ramen noodles, regular or spicy. A bit messy so don't forget to grab a ton of napkins.

Mrs. C's is serving up some of her famous egg rolls for you to try. This one is a vegetarian option, and it goes best with lots of sauce. Definitely gives it nice kick.

If you get your hot dog or link you can not forget the peppers. Absolutely delicious.

If your looking for a healthier food dish at the LACF, Cornucopia Farms offers wood-grilled flatbread with fresh vegetables, including heirloom tomatoes, veggies and strawberries grown at the 1-acre farm on the Fairplex grounds.

For your sweet tooth, Dr. Bob's hand-crafted ice cream with brownie is the bomb. Pictured here is the vanilla bean ice cream and brownie.

How about a Texas sized dount with all the fixings? Try this maple bacon donut the size of small child's head. If bacon is not for you, try the Reese's chocolate chunk donut or the 80's inspired Pop Rock's pink donut.
