The L.A. Taco Horoscope for March 2019

[dropcap size=big]P[/dropcap]isces season is upon us, Angels, and daydream believers win a month of love. It may sound paradoxical, but to effectively flake out, zone out or trip out, you should first make sure your bills are paid and the boss is satisfied. Frontloading March with some serious adulting will free your mind to dream and wander, Pisces style. On the day of the Spring Equinox, day and night are equal in length (March 20th). Enjoy the celestial dialectic and find balance in your subtle and physical bodies. This is a great time for a cleanse. Get your Goddess going on the same day, when the last Supermoon of 2019 brightens the constellation Virgo. Loving kindness abounds.

Aries (March 21 – April 20)

Are you a Robert Frost fan, Ram? March bring fires and ice to Aries. First the hot stuff: a Mars-Moon alignment in Aries (March 11th) triggers mega-tantrums. You may call FEMA on yourself. Things cool down when the Sun lands in your House of Subconscious on the 12th (dreamy Pisces hosts). Expect selfless musings of the make-the-world-a-better-place variety. And the dreams keep coming; the Vernal Equinox (March 20th ) fires up the same quadrant. A Supermoon in the Goddess Virgo (same day) deepens your ripening compassion. Night and day are the same length, and that celestial balance restores your good mood. Enjoy the equanimity that love for others brings to your own body.

Taurus (April 21 – May 21)

Damn, Bull, March looks good on you.  A Moon-Venus alignment supports physical beauty, and swagger abounds. Work it March 2nd. This alignment also brightens your Travel House – supporting mental, spiritual or physical journeys. Pack your metaphysical bags. The Sun enters Pisces officially (scientifically) on the 12th, when daydreams dominate your waking life. It supports your Friendship House, not that you need it. Who isn’t your friend these days? You are rightly loved.  Want some balance in your life? The Vernal Equinox attunes chakras on the 20th.  Help the good vibes roll with targeted breathing exercises. Your freaky flakiness is celebrated this Spring - so indulge in some crystal healing and metta meditation. Just don’t neglect your mundane chores – bathing, eating, going to work. Material security supports the dream.

Gemini (May 22 – June 21)

Dreaming of a career change, Twins? Want to monetize your hobbies? Get paid for being you?  This March, planetary motions activate your Career House. The Sun enters this space on the 12th, and dreams become reality. No city in America rewards fantasies like ours– so keep your head in the clouds. On the 15th and 16th, the Moon visits your twin stars: Castor and Pollux. (It will be visible in L. A. skies, so check it out.) This is the celestial equivalent of spring fever. Expect restlessness. The Equinox (March 20th) brings balance to your Career House. (I told you - a lot of activity here.) Do fewer things at work, and do them better.  Nobody appreciates the sloppy, exhausted version of you. A Supermoon in your House of Creativity marries imagination with reality (same day). Enjoy! And on the 21st, your ruling Mercury aligns with that hippy Neptune, bestowing cosmic gifts in the form of good ideas. Write them down.

Cancer (June 22 – July 22)

Dang, Cancer, who put peyote in your cheerios? You’re a love child this month, replete with mystic visions, flower-picking and big smiles for the cashier and mailman. A New Moon in Aquarius starts March on some seriously groovy footing (March 6th). It lands in your House of Transformation, revealing a new you. Channel higher frequencies, but don’t forget to pay the bills here on Earth. Your spiritual path demands attention on the 12th, when the Sun lands in your House of Religion. Connect with the Big Beloved, whatever that means to you. There are lots of ways to get there in this town, friend. And some of them are legal. On the 17th, your ruling Moon lands in Cancer’s beehive cluster (a very pretty group of stars). Prepare to let the crazy out. The last Supermoon of the year brightens your Communication House on the 20th, same day as the Equinox. Find balance in speech, heart, and mind. And apologize for whatever went down on the 17th.

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

It’s sexy time in the stars for the Lion this month. Feel like a Scorpio on the 6th, when your ruling Sun lands in your House of Sexuality, you will achieve spiritual realms through carnal exercise. Buy a book on Tantric Sex and throw it away. You don’t need a book. The Sun stays put for the Equinox (March 20th) when your physical and subtle bodies balance. (Pisces season is always mystical, but this is Holy-Shit territory.) Do what you need to do - buy crystals, candles, condoms - and calibrate your cosmic roar. A Supermoon in Virgo (same day) shines a light on your Income House. This lunation supports reflection, and you may just get the insight you need to make your money work for you. Mid-month, a triple planetary alignment (Moon-Earth-Sun) concentrates your energy into dramatic expression. Avoid burnout by focusing your crazy energy. Distractions will wear you down.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

Better stock up on some apricot scrub, Virgo, shedding the old you might get itchy. When the Sun activates your House of Transformation (March 6th), notice increased sensitivity and new emotional responses. Reactivity and negative patterns drop away. This House supports Joint Income, which should be welcome news to the giving Goddess. Caring for others can get expensive, and the heavens support your altruism like a celestial Patreon. Financial balance peaks with the Spring Equinox (March 20th). Prioritizing money is no spiritual flaw. Material security supports transformation – the body has to eat, after all. A Supermoon in Virgo (same day) provides a Goddess glow-up – clarify your energy with oils and clean food. And a Spring cleanse is never a bad idea. It will keep that gorgeous complexion of yours starry and bright.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

After an austere beginning to the Month, March offers delicious balance to the Scales. First, your ruling Venus aligns with the Moon in cold-shouldered Capricorn (March 2nd) turning your mind from the spirit to the wallet. Your desire for cold, hard cash leaves no room for the feels, and sentimental people annoy you. Your cold heart melts on the 12th, when the Sun enters your Partnership House. Dreams come home, and you remember what money is for; namely, making life better for the folks you love. On the 20th, the Spring Equinox lands in the same house. Find increased harmony at home. The same day, a Supermoon (last one of the year) activates your House of Subconscious. Have you neglected deeper values? Support your spiritual growth with physical discipline, such as exercise. Or just stop hitting the sauce for a couple weeks until you regain your center. After all, you’ve got to detox before you retox.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)

March begins and ends with a Saturn-Moon alignment (March 1st and 28th) that links material security with emotional well-being. Making money is not a character flaw – it frees the mind to stop worrying about the utility bill and start caring about spiritual pursuits. Dreaming of your one true love, Scorpion? The sun lands in your Marriage House on the 12th, staying there for the Equinox (March 20th). Your assignment is to find balance. By working on the self, you improve intimacy with others. The Spring Equinox is a great time for a cleanse. Get strict with the body to support the astral plane. A full Supermoon in Virgo (same day) supports friendship. For Scorpio, this means friendship with the Self. You will never be this young and good-looking again, so you may as well appreciate you.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

Linger long on Love Street, Archer. When the Sun lands in your House of L-O-V-E (March 12th) Piscean romance sweetens your Heart Center, a.k.a. the Anahata chakra, home of the divine self. Breath in and out of it a dozen times each morning in March to increase the flow of the good stuff. The Sun stays in your Love House for the Vernal Equinox (March 20th). Discover that equanimity and love are synonyms. That dark matter NASA can’t define? Could be love. A Supermoon in Virgo (same day) energizes the Archer’s Career House. Dreams and reason interweave and work serves dharma. The smallest detail of your day, if done with serenity, supercharges your spiritual growth. Far fucking out. Your ruling planet, lucky Jupiter, aligns with the Moon on the 26th. Goodwill toward others is your mainstay, Sagittarius. Reap and sow the karma. And thanks for being such a good human. It is not lost on others.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 20)

Money, money, money - you just can’t manage its flow these days, can you Capricorn? Don’t worry, the zodiac has a suggestion. Saturn, the Sea-Goat’s ruling planet, aligns with the Moon twice this month (March 1st and 28th) in your House of Self-Undoing, showing you exactly where you are screwing yourself financially. It turns out that you have plenty of money, you just blow it these days (and get in the way of making more). Use celestial insight to change tack. On the 2nd, the Moon aligns with Venus in your constellation. Continue to value the material over the spiritual. Sometimes this is necessary. You can’t worry about money and simultaneously grow spiritually. The Sun lands in your House of Home and Family on the 12th. Shake money off your mind and remember there are people who need your love. The Sun stays in that House for the Equinox (March 20th). Find harmony at home. Being easy-going is a decision, so lighten up. You are not a victim, just a grouch.

Aquarius (January 21 – February 19)

March kicks off with a New Moon in your constellation, Water-Bearer. Groovy beginnings are supported, but watch yourself on the 6th, when your need for “freedom” borders on selfishness. The Sun aligns with Mystical Neptune, also in your constellation (same day). Connect with higher realms for divine inspo – not the kind you find on Instagram. Intuition is a celestial gift when the Sun enters your Income House on the 12th. Daydreams concerning money are no waste of time. The Sun stays there for the Equinox (March 20th). Balance your chakras and your bank account. The material and spiritual must agree to unlock Aquarian potential. A Supermoon in Virgo (same day) supports joint-income. Listen to your partner, and put others first to unlock the self.

Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

Tell me, are you a badfish too, Pisces? Bad meaning Good, of course. March is your time - best season, best sign. The Sun enters your constellation on the 12th -constellations are different from signs - and daydream believers win cosmic patronage. Your heart opens on the 14th, when the Moon, Sun and Earth align. Protect yourself from auxiliary vibrations – you will be hypersensitive to others’ energies. Pisces hosts the Equinox (March 20th). Feel balance in the chakras when day and night are equal. A Supermoon in Virgo (same day) supports partnership. Be thankful to your bestie, your sweetie, and your mama. They got you. A deep cleanse or even a fast is not a bad idea here - strict tapasya (look it up) unlocks mystic potential. Go get some. And when brainy Mercury aligns with groovy Neptune on the Pisces/Aquarius cusp, there is no holding you back (March 21st). Feel lucky to live in a town that appreciates a hippy love child and be yourself. Like Oscar Wilde said, “Everyone else is already taken.”

Ophiuchus (November 29 – December 17)

How long has it been since you watched Pumping Iron, Snake-Handler? The stars suspect it has been too long. When the Sun lands in your House of Health (March 12th) daydreams support physical growth. Achieve transformation of the body by initiating good habits. The weather is fine and hiking is an awesome recharge. The Sun stays in your Health Sector for the Equinox (March 20th). Day equals Night, and the subtle body balances the physical. Find equanimity in one to support the other. Breathe gratitude into your chakras and your lungs. After all, you get to live in the finest city in America. A two-week cleanse – if you can manage one – will pay off. So eat to support the body, not the taste buds. March ends with a Moon-Jupiter alignment in your constellation. Luck comes from goodness, and the heavens reward your constant generosity towards others (March 26th).

Tamal or Tamale? How to Correctly Pronounce the Singular Form of Tamales

The tamal vs. tamale debate has an almost emotional connection with people simply because it becomes a “how my family speaks the language vs. how it’s ‘supposed to be’ written” type of language conflict. In a culture like Mexico, where family always comes before anything, it makes sense that people will go with what feels familiar rather than what they are expected to say.

This is how people usually find out about something like this,” she added. “It's ironic because it happened to them.”
