Local source Canyon News reports on a study recently conducted on economic disparity between neighborhoods, revealing that

Los Angeles is considered the most economically segregated region in the country, according to a new study done at Wayne State University in Detroit. Based on the 2000 census data, more than 2/3 of LA residents live in neighborhoods that are mostly rich or mostly poor. Only 25% of the population is considered middle class.

George Galster, one of the study’s authors, said, “The situation in L.A. is certainly at the extreme of American cities.”

This will not come as a surprise to anyone who's lived in an LA neighborhood which is either rich or poor, but will not be the perception of those living in more mixed locales. What is the most de-segregated neighborhood in Los Angeles? Where have you lived that feels like it has a good mix of people from all economic backgrounds?
