[dropcap size=big]L[/dropcap]ast Saturday marked the 50th anniversary of the death of the LA Times journalist, Ruben Salazar while he covered East L.A.'s historic marches by Mexican Americans against their disproportionate deaths in the Vietnam war. About a thousand marchers were present, along with over 100 lowriders. The peaceful caravan and march started at Atlantic Park, passed through the Whittier Boulevard Arch, and ended at Salazar Park. It was organized by the @Chicano.Moratorium on Instagram and there were organizing members of Black Lives Matter L.A. who marched in solidarity.

There were no reports of any altercations or arrests.
