Do you Season Your Tortillas? Street Vendors Seasoning Thinks You Should

Daniel Almanza grew up in Long Beach and as a boy became obsessed with the tacos served at a taco truck off of Santa Fe Avenue. According to Daniel, these tacos were like no others and one of their secrets was to dip the tortillas in seasoning which were then warmed on the grill and then filled with meat. The truck is no longer there, but to this day, his friends and family that grew up in the neighborhood still talk about the truck and their unique tacos. For years others would attempt to recreate those legendary tacos but they always fell short, so Daniel decided to take on the challenge to bring back the flavors of his neighborhood truck.

The result is Street Vendors Brand Tortilla Seasoning, the first and only product of its kind. While most seasoning companies focus on seasoning the meat, Daniel's company focuses on the overlooked tortilla. In Daniel's words, "imagine the best taco you've ever eaten, PLUS a seasoned tortilla... you can use the best meat, but without my seasoning, the tortila will still be plain."

Street Vendors Tortilla seasoning is available in Best Way Supermarkets, as well as select restaurants and direct from the company. The video above will show you how to use the seasoning at home. You can reach the company on Facebook as well.

Ragusano is disappointed that the L.A. This is how people usually find out about something like this,” she added. “It's ironic because it happened to them.”
