Bill Esparza’s Guide to the Best Fish Tacos in Ensenada

11:20 AM PST on November 16, 2010

The taco lifestyle originated in Mexico many thousands of years ago, and has one of its several meccas in Ensenada, this one devoted to a particular type of fish taco. Street Gourmet LA, AKA Bill Esparza, has now written what is the current bible for taco lovers planning a pilgrimage to Ensenada. Is this published in a $29.99 coffee book? No! It's available for free on his website, a gift to the global taco community. A quick excerpt:

These fish tacos are available all throughout the Baja peninsula, from Tijuana to Cabo, but Ensenada is the epicenter, and considered the birthplace of this iconic food. It's one of the first things one thinks of when planning a trip to Baja. "Fish tacos, dude!"(high fives)

Surprisingly, there hasn't been a thorough investigation of Ensenada's fish taco stands, with just a handful of places receiving any mention.
