Announcing Taco Madness Live! ~ May 5th, 2018

[dropcap size=big]W[/dropcap]e are extremely excited to announce that Taco Madness will be back at La Plaza on Cinco de Mayo in 2018!

We've been working hard behind the scenes with our partners to create a bigger and better event with more food, more drinks, more beer, and more fun for all of our guests. There will be tons of new features but of course, the core of our event is and always will be having the best tacos in Los Angeles all in one spot, representing the best that our city has to offer.

It’s all going down on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 5pm to midnight. The free, 21+ event is proud to celebrate the taco lifestyle in L.A. It will feature the best micheladas from I Love Micheladas and your favorite taco carts, trucks, and award-winning chefs. This year’s festival continues to offer over a curated selection of tacos from dozens of the city’s top taqueros. Not to mention craft beer from L.A.’s own Boomtown, Indie Brewing, and Wiretap, craft cocktail bars from Jägermeister and premium cocktails from Partida Tequila and Johnny Walker.

This year's event will feature a brand new $25 VIP hour, which includes early admission exclusively for VIP attendees to enjoy a full hour from 5-6 pm to shop the best tacos, cocktails, and micheladas with no crowds! Special VIP swag bag limited to the first 100 VIP guests, so get your VIP tickets now before they sell out.

General admission is free and starts at 6 pm, no tickets are needed. Taco Madness is a 21+ event and I.D.’s will be verified at the door.

Tamal or Tamale? How to Correctly Pronounce the Singular Form of Tamales

The tamal vs. tamale debate has an almost emotional connection with people simply because it becomes a “how my family speaks the language vs. how it’s ‘supposed to be’ written” type of language conflict. In a culture like Mexico, where family always comes before anything, it makes sense that people will go with what feels familiar rather than what they are expected to say.

More Than 70 People Reported Feeling Ill After Eating Oysters At L.A. Times ‘101 Restaurants’ Food Event

Ragusano is disappointed that the L.A. Times didn’t publicly disclose that there was an outbreak at their event. “Obviously they’re not going to print it in their paper,” Ragusano said. “But they‘re a newspaper and newspapers are supposed to share the news. This is how people usually find out about something like this,” she added. “It's ironic because it happened to them.”
