Shinehead ~ Live Wednesday @ Dub Club ~ Echo Park

The Echo ~ 1822 Sunset Blvd. Echo Park, CA 9:00 PM $10

Dub Club does it again! Again and again!! You all remember Shinehead's dancehall-inflected ode to the subway on "Chain Gang" and 80's rap "Don't Gimme No Crack," and if you're familiar with tracks like "Know How Fi Chat," "Do it with Ease," and "The Truth" from the same epic Unity album, you know he busts fast and conscious dancehall as well as old-school B-Boy rhymes like the best of the best. He is also a honey-voiced singer. I haven't heard all his albums, I bought another one used once and it blew, but Unity endures as a classic. It's nice to know the artist himself has endured as well, go check it out Wednesday night, friends. Do it for me, cuz I can't go. Shinehead is Jamaica, Shinehead is New York, Shinehead kicks ass! Bienvenidos a Los Angeles, Shinehead!
