Nazi Salutes and American Flags: Hundreds of Pro-Police Demonstrators Clash with Counter-Protestors in DTLA

[dropcap size=big]H[/dropcap]undreds of pro-police demonstrators chanting "All Lives Matter" and holding "Defend, Not Defund the Police" signs clashed with dozens of counter-protesters chanting "Black Lives Matter" on Saturday morning. Tensions were high and there were many small altercations between the two groups. Somehow despite the altercations, none of them turned physical.

One member from the pro-police side threw up the Nazi salute and one of the counter-protesters eventually got arrested.

L.A. TACO Investigative Reporter ‘Detained’ While Filming Encampment ‘Sweep,’ Released Without Charges

Ray was released by LAPD Sergeant Delano Hutchins without being cited or charged. Upon releasing Ray, Hutchins explained that our reporter was “detained” and not “arrested” because Hutchins determined he had not violated the law, due to Ray’s “media first amendment status.”
