POSE / KC ORTIZ “Whitewash” Preview ~ Known Gallery

Opening November 19th at 8pm ~ Known Gallery ~ 441 North Fairfax Avenue

"Whitewash" is a joint show with photojournalist KC Ortiz and artist POSE. 12 photographs and 15 paintings will be shown together under the theme of people, places, and art that has been erased from history, but not from memory and  imagination. POSE's childhood memories of a vibrant graffiti scene in pre-Daly Chicago and Ortiz's images of armed resistance  in quasi-states Burma and West Papua are unified by both the idea of fighting for a memory and a visual expression that creates an immediate visceral reaction while simultaneously inviting a long, deep look into the artists' compositions.
