Ink: Tattoo Art Exhibit Opens at Museum of Latin American Art ~ Long Beach

[dropcap size=big]T[/dropcap]his past weekend, the museum exhibit Ink opened at MOLAA. It's following the theme of Tattoo Art exhibitions seen at Arts and Craft Museum, Natural History Museum, and Japanese American History Museum. The exhibit runs through Feb. 3.

Through the personal stories of 6 community members, Ink sheds light on how tattoo art is an integral part of the historical and cultural fabric of Los Angeles. This exhibition unites multiple local histories — Long Beach, the Pike Amusement Park district, the U.S. Navy, L.A. Chicano culture, and tattoo art.

Tattoo artist Mark Mahoney of  The Shamrock Social Club was on hand during the public opening to tattoo a client.
