Breaking: Occupy LA Camp to be Cleared Next Week

Just now, Occupy LA convened an emergency general assembly on the steps of City Hall to announce that the City Council, the Mayor, and the LAPD has decided to close the park sometime next week, as early as Monday morning. They promised to give 72 hour notice prior to clearing the camp but the decision has been made. The Occupiers have reaffirmed both their commitment to non-violence and to staying in the park.

What does this mean for the future of Occupy LA? Time will tell, but it's clear that things are changing and the next stages are uncertain for the movement in LA and worldwide.
