Birriamaniacs, Get Ready to Eat at L.A. Taco’s BIRRIAMANIA on March 21st

[dropcap size=big]A[/dropcap]re you a maniac for birria?

L.A. Taco and the Santa Anita Racetrack are celebrating the taco lifestyle by bringing the best birria taco vendors in Los Angeles to the San Gabriel Valley’s original place for world-class horseracing.

Taste all the regional styles that Los Angeles has to offer side by side: Zacatecas, Tijuana, Michoacán, Jalisco, and more. Best of all, after you’ve soaked your tacos in all the different broths, you’ll be able to wash it all down with cold craft beers.

Who will take home the coveted L.A. Taco's BIRRIAMANIA Championship Belt? Will the tens of thousands of Instagram followers behind the beef birria warriors Teddy's Red Tacos and Birrieria Gonzalez resort to a wall of death to see who comes out alive? Will Tacos y Birria La Única call upon their star power in the form of Chrissy Teigen for back up in their efforts for birria glory? Will L.A. Birria's birria ramen sucker-punch the tortilla competition with their floppy noodles? Or will newcomer El Tijuanazo pull the upset of the century and beat them all?

Oh wait, two more challengers are approaching the squared circle. It's the goat-powered OG chivo birrieros! The Goat Mafia, fresh out their glossy Bon Appetit national premiere, and the last challenger: Birrieria Don Boni...with a steel chair straight outta Boyle Heights!

Which local birriero will win the royal birria rumble and take it all? You gotta show up to find out.

Buy your tickets here. The early bird tickets start at less than $20 bolas and it includes four juicy tacos and a brew. There are worse ways to spend a Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles.

Join us at the Santa Anita Racetrack on March 21st at noon to unleash your birriamaniac. The event is open to all ages. Here are the participating birria vendors so far.

Tamal or Tamale? How to Correctly Pronounce the Singular Form of Tamales

The tamal vs. tamale debate has an almost emotional connection with people simply because it becomes a “how my family speaks the language vs. how it’s ‘supposed to be’ written” type of language conflict. In a culture like Mexico, where family always comes before anything, it makes sense that people will go with what feels familiar rather than what they are expected to say.

More Than 70 People Reported Feeling Ill After Eating Oysters At L.A. Times ‘101 Restaurants’ Food Event

Ragusano is disappointed that the L.A. Times didn’t publicly disclose that there was an outbreak at their event. “Obviously they’re not going to print it in their paper,” Ragusano said. “But they‘re a newspaper and newspapers are supposed to share the news. This is how people usually find out about something like this,” she added. “It's ironic because it happened to them.”
