World Cup Report: Mexico’s Goal Celebrations Trigger Earthquake Sensor in Mexico City

[dropcap size=big]A[/dropcap] small "artificial earthquake" was recorded in Mexico City on Sunday by a non-government geological institute, prompted by the intense jumping and celebrating by millions of people who watched as Mexico scored a game-winning goal against Germany at the World Cup in Moscow.

Hirving "El Chucky" Lozano scored at 11:32 local time, causing shaking in the city, the Associated Press reported. Shaking was detected by the Instituto de Investigaciones Geológicas y Atmosféricas in Mexico City.
