The L.A. TACO Horoscope for April, 2018

Mercury. Image via NASA.

April supports the Warrior, Angels, so prepare for battle. Two Jupiter-Moon alignments in Libra’s scales support the momentum of marchers and their causes. (This aspect brackets the month on April 3rd and 30th.) Keep strong, keep poised, and keep going. Meanwhile, the sun might be in Aries but the mind remains in Pisces. Brainy Mercury keeps to that corner of the zodiac all this month: aligning with Mother Earth on the 1st, goosing the New Moon for a mental supercharge on the 15th and finally abandoning retrograde motion on the 13th. (Yes, Mercury Retrograde has an end — Hoo-to-the-Ray.) The result of all this planetary ballet is brainpower, lending smarts and strategy to causes for social justice. Don’t fight the Power this month; be the Power. (Organizers, this is a good month to read up on Aikido, a very April martial art full of beautiful surprise moves.)

Aries (March 21 – April 20)
Going somewhere, Ram? April brings three planetary alignments to your House of Travel, two of them involve your ruling Mars. Here are the days you should get going: (1) April 2nd when Mars pairs with Saturn to bestow strength and courage on love’s soldiers, (2) April 7th when Mars joins the Moon (as does Saturn that same day) supporting a warrior aspect. Whatever the nature of your battle, the planets have your back this month. Also, two Jupiter-Moon alignments begin and end the month (on the 3rd and again on the 30th) in your Marriage House. Marriage can be symbolic, and may refer to a business partnership, but no matter the relationship the planets help to heal all wounds. Reunited and it feels so good.

Taurus (April 21 – May 21)
The hardworking Bull can expect a good month on the job. April begins and ends with a Jupiter-Moon alignment in Libra (April 3rd and 31st) supporting justice in the Taurus workplace. You deserve a fair shake and you get one. (This aspect also supports Health.) On the 13th, Mercury leaves retrograde and goes direct in your Community Sector — celebrate the good vibes with good friends. And when your ruling Venus aligns with the Moon in your House of Subconscious (April 17th) expect an emotional response to beauty. This pairing supports impulsive self-expression. It’s a good day to make art.

Gemini (May 22 – June 21)
Boy, are you stealing the show this month, Gemini. Your ruling Mercury is super active in intuitive Pisces – this is your Career Sector — so expect some good ideas at work starting on the 1st when Mercury aligns with Mother Earth, giving you a clear mind and a grounded outlook. Your imagination will be supercharged since this is a super psychic placement. On April 13th Mercury Retrograde ends. You’ll experience your best mind, which is saying a lot for a smarty like you. On the 14th, a Mercury-Moon alignment in dreamy Pisces will continue this mental power, directly linking your unconscious and conscious minds. This is what earthlings call emotional intelligence, a subject the Twins can teach a master class in this April.

Cancer (June 22 – July 22)
Got spring fever, Cancer? I see your ruling Moon loving on every planet this month – well, everybody but Pluto. And technically Pluto’s not a planet anymore. Highlights include the Jupiter-Moon love fest in your Family Sector (April 3rd and 30th) when harmony and understanding are as important as water to the Crab. Bad Vibes wreck your health. Don’t let them in. You’ll feel all the feels on the 7th when your Moon aligns with both Saturn and Mars in Sagittarius. These are great conditions for travel, but on the flipside they could trigger emotional outbursts. Keep it together or get a planetary timeout. You will be a beautiful dreamer on the 14th when the Moon joins Mercury in intuitive Pisces. Expect self-awareness to increase.

Leo (July 23 – August 22)
Your ruling sun is hanging out in Aries this Month, Lion, giving you a productivity boost - and an even hotter head than usual. It’s a great month to get things done, but please choose your battles. The rest of April’s planetary action takes place in your House of Transformation. That’s where Mercury goes direct on the 13th. (This same House supports your sex life, so expect to go from celibate to celebrate.) And on April 18th when the Sun aligns with Uranus –yes, that makes me giggle too – you will access frontiers of knowledge and higher planes of mind. So you’ve got that going for you.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
April is an auspicious month for the Virgin’s bank accounts. All the activity is in your Joint Income Sector so expect a stronger partnership with your significant other starting April 1st, when Mercury aligns with Mother Earth in loving Pisces. This aspect provides a positive emotional foundation for decision-making. Mercury retrograde also ends in Joint Income (April 13th) and from then on your best mind will serve your wallet, and your heart. The 14th brings a rare opportunity to blend the unconscious and conscious minds. If you maintain deeper values when making material decisions, you can leave this month with a path to financial security. Do the work. It’s worth it.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)
Libra’s scales are busy this month. April 3rd and 30th host a Jupiter-Moon pairing that supports justice in relationships of all kinds – workplace, family, you name it. And if you act with fairness you will be treated in kind. Simply put; be nice. The 17th sees your ruling planet Venus align with the Moon in your House of Transformation. Expect the proverbial rare mood. Of course, aggressive self-expression can be funny, even charming, at a party. So cut loose. The month ends with a Full Moon in your sign (April 29th). Take the opportunity to reflect on your blessing by entertaining friends – you always were a gracious host.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
The Scorpion has a lot to say this April. Your ruling Mars keeps busy in your House of Communication all month, pairing once with Saturn (April 2nd) where it supports soldier-like courage, and again with the Moon (April 7th) when you can expect lofty idealism and strong religious views. Try not to be bombastic. It annoys the other signs. When Mercury goes direct, i.e. leaves retrograde, in your House of Work and Health (April 13th) you’ll be fired up in the workplace, breaking that slump you’ve been in. Moreover, you will feel spring’s energy in your body. Exercise can focus that momentum - so hit the gym, the trail, or the aquarium – wherever it is you scorpions hang out.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
The Constellation Sagittarius hosts a lot of April’s activity, and the Archer will feel some events more deeply than the other signs. You’ll be more philosophical than usual on the 2nd, when Mars and Saturn align in your sign. Your strong views will surface and that’s OK. Saturn visits you again on the 7th, this time aligning with the Moon. Expect strong nostalgia for material memories, such as your childhood home. Get out of your house (and out of your head) on this lucky day for travel. Saturn visits you again on the 17th and goes retrograde in your sign. This aspect tends to make you Self-Righteous – bad news for those around you. Please ask yourself, is this sermon really necessary? You’re an archer not a preacher, after all.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 20)
The goat expresses herself with more than head-butts this month - most of April’s action is in your House of Communication. You will surprise yourself with your own pretty speech beginning on the 1st, when Mercury aligns with Mama Earth and you show a real understanding of what’s important to those around you. Your leadership continues on the 13th when Mercury goes direct – that means it leaves retrograde - smoothing out family squabbles. And a Mercury-Moon pairing on the 14th further melds mind, heart, and speech. Who knew you could be such a peace-broker?

Aquarius (January 21 – February 19)
Water Bearer? Try Money Bearer. Your ruling planet Uranus sits in your Income House this April, Aquarius. To best support financial luck, read on. Starting on the 1st, a Mercury-Earth pairing supports smart financial decisions. No need to act yet; just write down your ideas. When the retrograde ends on the 13th, heart and mind see eye to eye. You’ll understand that money’s role is to support life, and not the other way around. Starting on the 18th you can make a specific financial plan, incorporating a new strategy. Be scientific about it. In fact, the only day you can’t trust your own mind is April 12th, when a Neptune-Moon alignment in your sign distracts you with mystical visions, harmonious vibrations, and the fact that you might be a goddess — minor distractions, indeed.

Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
If the sun loved you in March, little fishy, Mercury is your sweetheart this April. On the 1st that planet aligns with none other than Mother Earth in your constellation, bringing those super psychic powers you know and love to the fore. And that Retrograde that’s been bumming out the zodiac? It also ends in Pisces, pulling beautiful dreams off the pillow and sending them into the world. Keep spreading the love. You also host the New Moon (April 15th). Don’t forget to set your heart’s intention that night. Seeds can’t ripen unless planted, and you deserve a bumper crop. On April 18th a Sun-Uranus pairing (also in your sign) supercharges astral goals. Go ahead, be the yogi you want to see in the world. L.A. loves her mystics.

Ophiuchus (November 29 – December 17)
Lots of love for the Snake Bearer this month, Ophiuchus, especially in your Community sector. The month begins and ends with a Jupiter-Moon alignment (April 3rd and 30th) that brings gratitude from those around your. Enjoy the appreciation. On the 13th, Mercury goes direct (leaves retrograde) in your House of Health, which should be welcome news. The Zodiac makes a great trainer, so support your physical body with the help of the planets - lighten the diet and get juicing. The full moon on the 29th fosters self-awareness. When you remember your best self, mind serves the heart.
