Win For Vin And Help ThinkCure!

The TACO Team met some of the guys behind Win For Vin at the game last night. In addition to honoring the world's greatest baseball announcer and hopefully giving the Dodgers some form of motivation at the end of this bleak season, purchases of this sweet tee kicks back $2 to L.A. Dodgers ThinkCure Foundation to help fight cancer. Here's what this big blue wrecking crew has to say on its website:

"Over the past couple summer months an idea surfaced in honor of the greatest sport’s announcer in the history of sports. Vin Scully, is more than a public figure in the city of Los Angeles, for he can single handedly be the one common denominator that unites the entire the city. The idea, fundraiser, and marketing campaign is known as Win For Vin™. Win For Vin™ aims to succeed on a two tiered level. The facial value of the phrase aims to do just what it says, which is to win a World Series for the sports legend that has influenced and touched the lives of so many people with his voice over the years. The simple, yet sleek phrase can be imprinted upon anything from a t-shirt to a bumper sticker, in an effort to spark a potential winning streak that could bring home a ring for our beloved announcer.

Win For Vin™ hopes to attract fellow Dodger fans and Angelinos from all over the Los Angeles area and across the country. Beneath the goal of winning a World Series lies another common denominator that sits within each human being. The willingness to help people. More than ever, there are people in need of assistance around the world. Because current economic standards are forcing people and families to watch their bank accounts more closely, donating to charitable organizations is not always on the forefront of people’s minds. That is where the second and more important purpose of Win For Vin™ steps in. Win For Vin™ plans to donate $2 from each item sold to the ThinkCure! charity."
