COMBAT! is the name of LA-based underground musician Mark Nieto's project that combines drum loops and live guitars along with vocal samples and legions of textures and feelings. So far two tracks from his debut album for Friends of Friends are available for streaming, including the latest Jacaranda, which you can stream above. Unlike the previous guitar-driven single, Heavy Accent, this one relies on textures and Burial-like beats to continually build and release rhythmic tension. Both songs show a ton of promise for the album, which is available for pre-order now.
