Las Fotos Project Presents “Nuestra Virgen De Guadalupe”

One of our favorite non-profits, Las Fotos Project, in partnership with Girls Today Women Tomorrow, has facilitated a photography-based workshop with 7 girls from Boyle Heights, CA. Their goal: document the Virgen throughout your neighborhood; find her on t-shirts, bumper stickers, key chains and murals. Using various creative writing methods, the girls then expressed what significance the Virgen carried, be it religious, cultural, or none of the above.

Dec 12th is the Virgen's feast day, and "Nuestra Virgen De Guadalupe" is a photography exhibit created for and by the residents of Boyle Heights as a seen through the eyes of six teenage girls from the community. Prints of their work will be for sale at the events, with 100% of the proceeds going back to the girls' and future photography workshops. Check out times, dates, and locations below:

Former DHS Secretary Kristi Noem has been reassigned to the role of “Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas,” which will have its first meeting with like-minded right-wing leaders from 12 Latin American countries. Mullin, who is currently a House Representative for Oklahoma’s 2nd district, will take on the role of Secretary of DHS at the end of the month, where he’ll likely be ready to take on all of the U.S. in a fistfight.
