‘Farce of July:’ L.A.’s Indigenous and BLM Protestors March to ‘Demand an End to White Supremacy on Native Land’

[dropcap size=big]M[/dropcap]ore than 500 activists gathered in Downtown Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon to protest the 4th of July American holiday. Known as 'The Farce of July,' it is an annual protest that is organized by @xicanorecordsandfilms, a creative collective planting intergenerational seeds of love for decolonization through music, art, films, word, and actions.

The action started at Olvera Street and the group made their way making stops along the way. Native leaders dropped tobacco to remember the past and their ancestors. There were a few small altercations in the protest, including a lone counter-protestor chanting, "All Lives Matter." At the federal courthouse, there were U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents present.
